Football Remains Undefeated

Written by John Barrett '11 on October 7, 2009.

The 2009 junior varsity football season is well underway, and the Eagles are looking very strong. The JV team is currently 5-0 with wins over Mentor, Euclid, Archbishop Hoban, Chardon, and St. Vincent-St. Mary. The Eagles are looking to post a repeat undefeated JV season.

The JV program at St. Edward is tough and requires hard work and perseverance. Players have to focus on their own games, while at the same time contributing to the varsity team by playing as the scout team at practice. Coach Peter Pappas said, “The team is full of talent and works very hard. The players provide a bright future for St. Edward football.”

The remaining schedule is challenging with games against Cardinal Mooney, Erie Cathedral Prep, Moeller, and St. Ignatius. If the team is able to, in the words of Coach Pappas, keep their “Beast Mode Activated,” they will finish the season victoriously.
