While rain cancelled the JV Golf team’s last match on September 29, the team ended the season on an “up note” after facing much adversity.
Sophomore Matt Anzalone said, “While we have had some difficult stretches over the course of the season, we finished strong and are looking to improve next year.”
Next year looks especially optimistic with sophomores Alex Norton and Mike O’Connor consistently posting low rounds throughout the season as well as freshmen Matt Brookins, Adam Abele, and Brett Johnson playing well. JV Green Coach Brian Fischer spoke positively about these players and described them as “consistent in their games [with] solid work [ethics].”
Despite the struggle of the JV teams, freshman Pat Flannery said, “It’s been fun getting to play this much golf, and we have vastly improved our short games. Now we need to work on putting the ball in play.”
