St. Edward High School had its first mass of the year on Tuesday, September 15. Like all masses, this was a school-wide event. However, this mass was different; instead of gathering for a Holy Day of Obligation or a special Church holiday, the St. Edward community gathered to celebrate fourteen seniors and their choice to become Eucharistic Ministers. Tim Bajorek, Sean Donahue, Marty Lewis, Matthew Unger, Kevin Carlin, Patrick Egan, Colin O’Grady, Kevin Vogel, William Comiskey, Steve Famiano, Alexander Nixon, Pat DiCillo, Christopher Gaertner, and James Shea all took the next step in their journey with God when they signed up to become Eucharistic Ministers. When asked why he decided to become a minister, Colin O’Grady responded, “I was raised with the strong morals of the Catholic Church and felt compelled to take the next step in my religious life. As a St. Edward student and a man of God, I felt it was my responsibility to give back to the Church.”
